Letford Elementary School is located at 2 North Jay Avenue in Johnstown, Colorado. The school now houses approximately 380 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. These students are divided into 20 classrooms. Our school mascot is the Mighty Colt and our school colors are Blue, White and Red.
Letford was built in 1953, but has been enlarged and remodeled several times with the latest addition of four classrooms in 2002 and a new Kindergarten playground in 2005.
Letford has a dynamic staff that strives to make responsible and successful citizens of its students. The student council, made up of students from each 3rd through 5th grade classroom has held skating parties, sold candy and cookies, and other activities to buy things for the school and donate to several charities. Student council promotes communication and unity in our school, as well as being good examples of citizenship.
Parent involvement is encouraged at Letford. Along with volunteering in the classroom parents participate in the Building Accountability Committee (BAC) and our outstanding Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
We look forward to working with you to provide your child the best possible education. We encourage active parental involvement. Your child’s needs are best met through a positive and supportive relationship between home and school. We wish you and your child an exciting, productive and successful school experience.
Letford Elementary School believes that we, together with the community, will develop responsible, lifelong learners through a challenging and safe learning environment. The mission statement is reviewed on a continual basis to ensure that we are meeting the children’s needs. Every decision we make, whether it be through the PTO, school leadership team or student council is based on our mission statement.
