Counseling Corner
Hello parents and friends. Welcome to another great year at Letford Elementary. My name is Katy Burack and I’m the school counselor here and over at Milliken Elementary. I teach all kids K-5 about the importance of good character. We focus on the 6 pillars; trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
If I’m not in the classroom teaching then I am working with kids in groups or individually with personal problems that they may be having. Some concerns that kids have are; divorce, loss, friendship and anger control. If you think your child would need some extra help in these or other areas please call me right away.
The first pillar that we will cover is Trustworthiness. I would greatly appreciate your help with reinforcing this behavior at home. There are many great books about trust, promises and dependability here at our library that you can check out with your child.
If you have any questions or concerns on where you could get some more assistance with your children please feel free to call me and I will get back as soon as possible.
