Beginning of the Year Information for Milliken Middle School

Tuesday, August 14th will be an orientation day for 6th grade students only. Orientation will
run from 7:35am-2:35pm, School lunch program will be offered or students can bring their own
lunch and transportation will run as normal. 6th graders, please leave your school supplies at
home on August 14th. We will supply anything you need for orientation.
• MMS will host an “Move-In Night” from 5:30-7pm on Tuesday, August 14th. To assist in
movement in the building with the large crowds, please try to adhere to the following
5:30-6pm 6th grade
6-6:30pm 7th Grade
6:30-7pm 8th Grade
If you cannot make it at your scheduled time, drop in at any time during the “Move-In Night” to
get your locker organized and ready for school, receive parent log-in information for Infinite
Campus, turn in household information updates, update immunization records, place funds into
lunch accounts, pay student fees, fill out iPad permission forms, as well as, and learn about
programs offered at MMS. Please join us for this fun community event. Teachers will not be
present at this event. We will host a Back to School Night on August 21st.

Wednesday, August 15th is the first full day of school for all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
• Infinite Campus Portal will be open on Monday, August 13th at 4pm so you can view student
schedules. 6th grade students will also receive a paper copy of their schedule during
orientation on August 14th. All students can get a paper copy of their schedule on August 14th
during our “Move-In Night at Milliken Middle School.” We will not entertain any schedule
changes prior to the school year. Incomplete schedules will be dealt with on August 15th during
the period in which the student has the scheduling issue. If a student requests to change a
class, then s/he must complete a form in the office and those will be addressed within the first
two weeks of school.

Tuesday, August 21st - 6-8:15pm Parent Back to School Night
This parent exclusive night is where you as a parent will come and run through your child's schedule and
meet your child’s teachers. The teachers will talk about the important procedures, grading policies, and
anything else they feel you as a parent would need to know for their classroom. The night will follow the
school day schedule with 10 minute classes including 4-minute passing periods, so that you can get a feel
for your student’s school day.
