The Johnstown BBQ Days committee has chosen Danielle Gardner, an RHS Alumni and Color Guard Coach, as the deserving recipient of the Citizen of the Year award. Danielle's dedication to the performing arts and band program has made a profound and lasting impact on both the school and the students.

During her time as a student at RHS, Danielle was driven by her passion to establish a color guard program. Five years ago, she turned her goal into a reality, bringing the vibrant world of color guard to RHS. This accomplishment alone speaks volumes about her determination and commitment to enhancing the school's extracurricular offerings.

According to Mr. John Balderson, the RHS Band Instructor, Danielle Gardner's contributions have not only expanded the opportunities available to RHS students but have also created a sense of belonging and camaraderie. The color guard program has become another family for those involved, providing them with a supportive and nurturing environment. Mr. Balderson further emphasized that without Danielle's vision and leadership, the RHS Color Guard program would not have flourished to its current extent.

Danielle Gardner's selection as the Citizen of the Year is a testament to her significant contributions and the positive impact she has made within the RHS community. Congratulations, Danielle, on this well-deserved recognition!
