RHS Sophomore Named Johnstown Youth of the Year

Richard Boresen, a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, has recently been honored as the Johnstown BBQ Days Youth of the Year. This prestigious title is a testament to Richard's exceptional dedication to his community and his outstanding achievements at such a young age.

One of Richard's notable involvements is his active membership in the RHS Interact Club where he has tirelessly contributed over 500 hours of community service over the past two years. His commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others is truly commendable. Additionally, Richard is deeply involved in the RHS Robotics Program, Gaming Club, and FBLA displaying his diverse range of interests and talents.

What set Richard apart and caught the attention of the selection committee was his unwavering passion for helping others. In an interview with the Johnstown Breeze, Richard expressed his deep-rooted connection to volunteerism, stating, "I guess volunteerism is just rooted in my past...
