RMS Construction Updates

It is so exciting to see the new Roosevelt Middle School campus take shape. The new school, which has a planned opening date of January 2025, is on budget and on schedule.

Extensive research and planning went into the design of the new building. An advisory committee made up of teachers, administrators, and community members worked with the architects and construction team to create spaces in the new school that are comfortable and welcoming for students while maximizing teaching and learning.

Bright, beautiful learning commons will provide flexible areas where students can collaborate and/or study independently. Each grade-specific learning commons will have flexible seating for 28 students in the event a teacher needs to expand the walls of their classroom. There will also be two “teaching walls” to enable teachers and small groups to extend learning activities.

Featured in these images is the latest construction photo of the 6th grade learning commons along with the original rendering of the same commons. Sixth grade library books and other media will be easily accessible to students via the built-in shelving.
