Greetings MES community! My name is Shelly Durbin, and I’m super excited for my 2nd year as your school librarian!
The ‘23-24 school year marks my 21st year in education. I began my career in Special Education in Kansas City. I moved to Denver in 1998, taught kindergarten, 4th grade, and spent the last 10 years as a Reading Interventionist/ELD
support teacher.
I have a wonderful 19 year old daughter who is studying to become a Medical Assistant. I also have 1 very spoiled mini poodle named Princess & 2 frisky kitties named Mocha & Hazel. In my spare time, I love to read, watch football (GO CHIEFS!!), travel, and attend theater performances.
